The Heart You Keep

When midnight comes and you’re fast asleep
Dream tenderly of the heart you keep
For it beats for you and for you alone
Only you will it call its house and its home
Never will it leave you or wander away
Never will you wake up to it gone one day
Through the summer and winter too
It will never betray or abandon you
So let it bring you comfort and a smile
Let it make your troubles worth some while
