You try to convince me that we won’t work
He’s what being realistic means
But I know it’s just caution and past hurt
I know it’s just ‘cause all this feels like a dream

You still try so hard to see things with him
But the connection just isn’t the same
You’ll never admit it so you still swear you really like him
As if I’m not if “everything you ever wanted” had a name
