How many live in darkness and suffering
How many wonder why God doesn’t do anything
The Lord knows all who call upon His name
Yet most of their lives remain the same
He eases our anxiety and settles our fears
He calms our shaking and wipes our tears
But still, joy does not come in the morning
When we awake we do not praise or sing
Every day we are crushed by all our burdens
Despite our prayers our suffering never ends
So then what hope is there for someone like me
What good is desiring peace and wanting to be free
For many are called but few are chosen, as the scriptures say
And I am but a sinner at the end of the day
