Back in the back room faded off the V
That’s vodka, no more questionable women for me
Phone dry, allergies active, and fans on; its back to just doing this for fun
No more fifty shades for all those girls that were a one and done
I’m wide awake and trying to bring poetry back
“It’s too rhymy, it’s too simple and to the point” so you know I’m back
I just wanna be free from my feelings and let go
I just wanna get back to the V. Fall you used to know
Keep it simple, tell the story, and be done
Give a fuck about the spoken word poets and what past poets have done
It’s twenty eighteen, it’s time for the new greats to be crowned
It’s time for praise for poems I wrote after shots were downed
