Good Days

Inappropriate conversations and religious convictions
Committing sins we should probably never mention
But I’ve daydreamed about better days
Hotel rooms when I come to town to stay
We tell stories on the balcony with some wine
I’m about to be yours and you’re about to mine
It’s lust mixed with honest intentions
What happens next will be a drunk but passionate decision
We stare at each other afterward with a smile
There’s complications but the love feels worthwhile
Days come and go behind those four walls
We talk and laugh with dreams while reality calls
But we’re too far gone to ever come back
For once our hearts aren’t broken and our souls aren’t black
