Fallen From Grace

Are You ignoring me
Have I been abandoned by the Lord
Has He grown tired of my sins
And lifted His Mighty Sword

Has my life come to an end
I am alive but feel dead
My prayers are no longer heard
And my poems no longer read

I was a rebel in my youth
And a wanderer in adulthood
I lived as one without a God
Doing more evil than good

And now it is too late
Forgiveness brings no peace or grace
I beg the Lord for His kindness
I’m desperate to see His face

But He has turned away in disappointment
I am damned to roam in shame
Lest I take my own life
And perish without a name
