Final Stand

My prayers fall on deaf ears
My Lord is in the far distance
I lay in the wilderness close to death
My soul has no more resistance

Death has cast its shadow
Suicide has begun its campaign
My life is held for a ransom
Darkness has started its reign

I question recent prophecies
In this moment they seem but lies
My purpose remains hopeless and void
For after all, everyone dies
