The City of Dodge

In a room full of night
My tears make an appearance
A pointless prayer is spoken
To confess my ignorance

Hope has passed away
Happiness has abandoned me
Demons advance on my soul
And death calls to my body

Alcohol numbs but a second
Sleeping pills are taken to aid
This night will an eternity
In permanent rest I will be laid
