Kindred Spirit


I said, “Never again will I fall
For one of that species and kind.
Never again will I let such beauty
Haunt and control my mind.”

But upon a warm Fall afternoon
I stumbled across one like me
She had an eye for the art of life
And expressed her heart in poetry

Her beauty rivaled that of demons
Heavenly angels with a past
She too knew the Hell of Love
The promise that never lasts
