Years Later

Blvd. Nights plays in my headphones
As usual I drink this glass of wine alone
Thinking back to my days Jacksonville
The last time I was sure true love was real
Katie is waiting for me in Little Rock
I’m outside to avoid watching the clock
I can feel everything like it was yesterday
I don’t wanna go back to visit, I wanna stay
I wanna go visit the other Caity at Old Chicago
I wanna kiss Katie goodnight but not let her go
I wanna go back to the town house in Fayetteville
I wanna be alive again, I wanna feel
I wanna feel the heat of the Arkansas sun
I wanna tell Katie I know she’s the one
I don’t want us to end that Wednesday afternoon
I don’t wanna leave her or that little room
I don’t wanna see her cry as I drive away
I want her to save me from today and beg me to stay
