A Hardened Heart

Thinking back to the time I called Arkansas my home
Back when Katie used to trip when I would go through her phone
Paranoid due to all the baggage I got from my ex
Looking back I wish Katie would’ve been first instead of next
Now both of them are on to better things
The best I ever had, I put that on than everything
Nowadays I don’t believe in relationships or love
Nowadays it’s all conversations with the Holy One Above
Pouring glasses of red moscato for all the pain
They call it an addiction, I call it trying to stay sane
Unable to get to my true emotions when I’m straight sober
A couple of bottles later I’m finally myself but the night’s over
