For a Follower

Compliments no longer flatter you
Kind words no longer have meaning
For you know the true intentions of man
You know their minds are always scheming

Their hearts love one moment and hate the next
They care one day and walk away another
All of them are as fragile as a glass
Unworthy of ever being your lover

Who is caring and confident
Who is loving and bold
To whom will you be finer than silver
And more valuable than gold

Who will care for your broken heart
Who will ease your weary mind
Who will stand and take pride in you
Saying, Praise the God who made you mine

Oh who can make “beautiful” beautiful again
When will praise of your beauty be enough
For the way to your heart is not hard to find
But the road is very difficult and rough
